The lone courier rides through a deserted battlefield covered by the night.

The enemy’s merciless dragoons are there, hunting him. If they discover him, capture and death await. If they find out what he is carrying, the war is lost. But the courier has a strength that has saved him before: he never carries written messages – he memorizes them.

But this time, things go wrong. Exhausted after nights in the saddle, his vigilance fails– and a misstep sends him straight into the clutches of the dragoons.

In chains, beaten by a torturer, he fights a desperate battle. He knows one thing for sure: if he talks, it means death for many.
